Venture with Impact

J'ai passé un super moment à Mexico pour le programme d'octobre. Pau, notre program manager, a été très serviable et sociable. Elle nous a emmenés dans plein de super endroits. J'ai fait du bénévolat dans un refuge pour chiens et j'ai écrit des publications pour les réseaux sociaux afin de favoriser les adoptions, et certains ont été adoptés, donc j'ai vraiment fait la différence. Les autres venturers étaient super pour vivre ensemble et je suis content de dire que je me suis fait des amis pour la vie au Mexique. Notre logement était aussi spacieux, propre, avec un espace de travail et un bon wi-fi, et très bien situé.

Had an awesome time in Mexico City for the October program. Pau, our program manager, was very helpful and social. She took us to a lot of great spots. I volunteered with a dog shelter and wrote social media posts to help get dogs adopted and some were so definitely made an impact. The other venturers were great to live with and I'm happy to say I've made life-long friends while in Mexico. Our accommodation was also spacious, clean, and had workspace with good wi-fi and in a great location.

Je recommande vivement l'expérience : Medellín est une ville incroyable et VWI m'ont vraiment aidé à concevoir un programme adapté à mes besoins. I spent 6 weeks in Medellin, Colombia interning at a local government organization through with Venture with Impact. I would highly recommend the experience - Medellin is an amazing city and VWI were really helpful in designing a programme to suit my needs. Lindsay was also very knowledgeable about the local area, and helped me get to know the city and find my feet when I arrived. Thanks heaps!

J'ai eu la chance de voyager à Medellín, en Colombie, avec Venture with Impact en juin et je le recommande vivement ! C'est vraiment comme ça que je veux voyager à l'avenir. Avoir tout de suite des amis qui nous ressemblent, un expert de la ville (merci Lindsay !), un super endroit où loger et une façon de se connecter authentiquement à la communauté grâce au bénévolat est inestimable et en fait bien plus qu'un simple voyage. Je recommande aussi vivement Medellín, c'est une ville tellement progressiste ! Le système de transports en commun est incroyable et il y a tellement de choses à faire : randonnées, cours de danse, sport dans les nombreuses salles de sport en plein air gratuites, et repas avec des "menus del dia" incroyables et des produits frais (pour si peu cher !). I had the chance to travel to Medellin, Colombia with Venture with Impact in June and highly recommend it! This is definitely the way that I want to travel in the future. Immediately having like-minded friends, a city expert (thanks Lindsay!), a great place to stay and a way to authentically connect to the community through volunteering is invaluable and makes it so much more more than just a trip. I also highly recommend Medellin it is such a progressive city! The public transportation system is amazing and there is so much to do from hiking, dance lessons, exercising in the numerous free outdoor gyms and eating amazing "menus del dia" and fresh produce (for so cheap!). Je reviens tout juste d'un mois à San Miguel de Allende. J'ai vécu une expérience fabuleuse en faisant du bénévolat dans une garderie/école maternelle pour enfants de familles à faible revenu. VWI m'a fourni un magnifique logement près du centre-ville et m'a apporté tout le soutien dont j'avais besoin... de l'organisation d'excursions et de visites à la recherche d'un professeur pour quelques cours d'espagnol, en passant par l'aide pour m'orienter.

Je recommande VIVEMENT à toute personne qui y réfléchit... et j'ai hâte de ma prochaine occasion de voyager avec eux (peut-être le Portugal ou la Thaïlande la prochaine fois ?).

Just got back from a month in San Miguel de Allende. I had a fabulous experience volunteering at a daycare/preschool for children from low income families. VWI provided me with beautiful accommodations near the city center and gave me all the support I needed...from putting together day trips and tours, finding a teacher for a few Spanish lessons, and just helping me find my way around.

I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone considering it...and I look forward to my next opportunity to take a trip with them (maybe Portugal or Thailand next time?).

J’adore voyager et j’ai déjà pas mal bougé par moi-même, mais l’expérience proposée par Venture with Impact ajoute une couche supplémentaire d’immersion étroite dans la culture locale - comme des cours de fabrication de carreaux, ou des tours en vélo électrique dans un village de pêcheurs portugais - que je n’aurais sinon pas eu l’occasion de faire. En plus de cela, j’ai beaucoup appris sur le fonctionnement des organisations à but non lucratif et de l’éducation au Portugal grâce à ma merveilleuse opportunité de bénévolat. Notre program manager nous a donné les meilleures recommandations locales et nous avons pu découvrir des commerces, boutiques, cafés, pubs et programmes locaux qu’il aurait autrement été difficile de découvrir ou de planifier - après quelques semaines là-bas, c’était nous qui donnions des conseils de voyage à d’autres nomades numériques. J’ai pu travailler à distance pour mon emploi aux États-Unis, dans un environnement sûr et confortable, avec un bon wifi et la super compagnie de mes camarades Venturers with Impact. Je confierais sans hésiter mes projets de voyage/télétravail à l’équipe VWI à l’avenir.

I love traveling and moved around quite a bit on my own so far, but the experience offered by Venture with Impact has an extra layer of close immersion in the local culture - like tile making classes, or electric bike tours in a portuguese fishermen village - that I would've otherwise not gotten a chance to do. On top of that I got to learn a lot about the workings of non-profits and education in Portugal through my wonderful volunteer opportunity. Our program manager gave us the best local recommendations and we got to experience local businesses, shops, cafes, pubs, and programs that otherwise would've been difficult to discover or plan - after a couple of weeks there, we were the ones giving travel recommendations to other digital nomads. I got to work remotely for my job in the US, in a safe and comfy environment, with good wi-fi, and the great company of my fellow Venturers with Impact. I would definitely put my travel/remote work plans in the hands of VWI team in the future.

En collaboration avec Venture with Impact, j'ai animé une série de séminaires sur les carrières dans le cadre d'une retraite d'une semaine à Lisbonne en mai dernier. Ann Davis a été formidable à travailler. J'ai apprécié qu'elle prenne un si grand soin de la retraite, de la planification à la logistique du séjour. Elle était calme et professionnelle, claire et concise dans sa communication, bien organisée et drôle ! Ann a aussi très bien travaillé avec moi à la création de l'itinéraire de la retraite, qui intégrait des activités à la fois de carrière et d'impact culturel. Cela a très bien fonctionné et la retraite a reçu d'excellents retours des participants. J'ai hâte de retravailler avec Ann sur la retraite que nous préparons à Lisbonne en avril 2020.

In conjunction with Venture with Impact, I delivered a series of career seminars as part of a weeklong retreat in Lisbon this past May. Ann Davis was amazing to work with. I appreciated her taking such great care of the retreat from planning to logistics of the stay. She was calm and professional, clear and concise in her communications, well organized, and fun! Ann was also very good at working with me on creating the retreat itinerary which incorporated both career and cultural impact activities. It worked out very well and the retreat received great feedback from participants. I look forward to working with Ann again on the retreat we're planning for Lisbon in April 2020.

Notre voyage était bien organisé avec de beaux hébergements, et j'ai en plus adoré faire connaissance avec mes compagnons de voyage ! I participated in the month-long program in Lisbon, Portugal, during June of 2019. Our trip was well-organized with beautiful accommodations, plus I loved getting to know my travel companions! The org I volunteered with will always have a special place in my heart; I'm thankful for our partnership. I couldn't have planned a more fun and meaningful experience on my own ❤

J'ai eu l'honneur de co-animer Wander Within, une retraite de voyage, de solidarité et de bien-être, aux côtés de Venture with Impact à Chiang Mai, en Thaïlande. Je ne recommanderai jamais assez ce groupe ! La retraite d'une semaine a été une expérience unique, pleine de réflexion intérieure, d'immersion culturelle et d'aventure ! Des cours de cuisine thaïlandaise traditionnelle à la visite d'un sanctuaire éthique pour éléphants, en passant par la croissance intérieure grâce au yoga, à la méditation, à l'écriture d'un journal et au don de soi, la retraite a été une expérience comme aucune autre. De plus, grâce à l'excellente logistique de Venture with Impact, les voyages, l'hébergement et les allers-retours vers les excursions n'auraient pas pu être plus simples. J'ai hâte de participer à la prochaine retraite !

I had the honor of co-leading Wander Within — a travel, charity, and wellness retreat — alongside Venture with Impact in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I cannot recommend this group enough! The weeklong retreat was a once in a lifetime experience full of inner reflection, cultural immersion, and adventure! From traditional Thai cooking classes to visiting an ethical Elephant Sanctuary, and inner growth via yoga, meditation, journaling, and giving back the retreat was an experience like no other. Plus, thanks to Venture with Impact's superb logistic skills travel, accommodations, and getting to-and-from excursions could not have been easier. I cannot wait for the next retreat!

J'ai participé au Career Exploration & Soul Search Retreat de mai 2019 à Lisbonne, au Portugal. C'était une combinaison puissante entre l'expérience d'une culture et d'un lieu différents et le travail avec un consultant en carrière renommé, qui m'a ouvert à de nouvelles pistes professionnelles. De plus, la camaraderie avec les autres participants a rendu le voyage encore plus profond. Extrêmement bien organisé. Je recommande vivement !

I participated in the May 2019 Career Exploration & Soul Search Retreat in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a powerful combination of experiencing a different culture/place and working with a renowned career consultant that opened me up to the possibilities for new professional paths. Plus the camaraderie with the other participants made the trip even more profound. Extremely well run. I highly recommend!
