I love traveling and moved around quite a bit on my own so far, but the experience offered by Venture with Impact has an extra layer of close immersion in the local culture - like tile making classes, or electric bike tours in a portuguese fishermen village - that I would've otherwise not gotten a chance to do
Eu adoro viajar e já me movimentei bastante por conta própria, mas a experiência oferecida pela Venture with Impact tem uma camada extra de imersão próxima na cultura local - como aulas de fabricação de azulejos ou passeios de bicicleta elétrica em uma vila de pescadores portuguesa - que eu não teria tido a chance de fazer de outra forma. Além disso, aprendi muito sobre o funcionamento das organizações sem fins lucrativos e da educação em Portugal por meio da minha maravilhosa oportunidade de voluntariado. Nossa program manager nos deu as melhores recomendações locais e conhecemos negócios, lojas, cafés, pubs e programas locais que seriam difíceis de descobrir ou planejar de outra forma - depois de algumas semanas lá, éramos nós que dávamos dicas de viagem para outros nômades digitais. Pude trabalhar remotamente para o meu emprego nos EUA, em um ambiente seguro e confortável, com bom wi-fi e a ótima companhia dos meus colegas Venturers with Impact. Com certeza colocaria meus planos de viagem/trabalho remoto nas mãos da equipe da VWI no futuro.
I love traveling and moved around quite a bit on my own so far, but the experience offered by Venture with Impact has an extra layer of close immersion in the local culture - like tile making classes, or electric bike tours in a portuguese fishermen village - that I would've otherwise not gotten a chance to do. On top of that I got to learn a lot about the workings of non-profits and education in Portugal through my wonderful volunteer opportunity. Our program manager gave us the best local recommendations and we got to experience local businesses, shops, cafes, pubs, and programs that otherwise would've been difficult to discover or plan - after a couple of weeks there, we were the ones giving travel recommendations to other digital nomads. I got to work remotely for my job in the US, in a safe and comfy environment, with good wi-fi, and the great company of my fellow Venturers with Impact. I would definitely put my travel/remote work plans in the hands of VWI team in the future.
