Venture with Impact
I love traveling and moved around quite a bit on my own so far, but the experience offered by Venture with Impact has an extra layer of close immersion in the local culture - like tile making classes, or electric bike tours in a portuguese fishermen village - that I would've otherwise not gotten a chance to do
Me encanta viajar y hasta ahora me he movido bastante por mi cuenta, pero la experiencia que ofrece Venture with Impact tiene una capa extra de inmersión cercana en la cultura local, como clases de fabricación de azulejos o tours en bicicleta eléctrica por un pueblo de pescadores portugués, que de otro modo no habría tenido la oportunidad de hacer. Además, aprendí mucho sobre el funcionamiento de las organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro y la educación en Portugal gracias a mi maravillosa oportunidad de voluntariado. Nuestra program manager nos dio las mejores recomendaciones locales y pudimos conocer negocios, tiendas, cafés, pubs y programas locales que de otro modo habría sido difícil descubrir o planificar; tras un par de semanas allí, éramos nosotros quienes dábamos recomendaciones de viaje a otros nómadas digitales. Pude trabajar en remoto para mi empleo en EE. UU., en un entorno seguro y cómodo, con buen wifi y la estupenda compañía de mis compañeros Venturers with Impact. Sin duda pondría mis planes de viaje y trabajo remoto en manos del equipo de VWI en el futuro.
I love traveling and moved around quite a bit on my own so far, but the experience offered by Venture with Impact has an extra layer of close immersion in the local culture - like tile making classes, or electric bike tours in a portuguese fishermen village - that I would've otherwise not gotten a chance to do. On top of that I got to learn a lot about the workings of non-profits and education in Portugal through my wonderful volunteer opportunity. Our program manager gave us the best local recommendations and we got to experience local businesses, shops, cafes, pubs, and programs that otherwise would've been difficult to discover or plan - after a couple of weeks there, we were the ones giving travel recommendations to other digital nomads. I got to work remotely for my job in the US, in a safe and comfy environment, with good wi-fi, and the great company of my fellow Venturers with Impact. I would definitely put my travel/remote work plans in the hands of VWI team in the future.
