I love traveling and moved around quite a bit on my own so far, but the experience offered by Venture with Impact has an extra layer of close immersion in the local culture - like tile making classes, or electric bike tours in a portuguese fishermen village - that I would've otherwise not gotten a chance to do
Amo viaggiare e finora mi sono spostato parecchio da solo, ma l'esperienza offerta da Venture with Impact ha un livello in più di immersione ravvicinata nella cultura locale - come i corsi di produzione di piastrelle o i tour in e-bike in un villaggio di pescatori portoghese - che altrimenti non avrei avuto la possibilità di fare. In più ho imparato molto sul funzionamento delle organizzazioni non profit e dell'istruzione in Portogallo grazie alla mia meravigliosa opportunità di volontariato. Il nostro program manager ci ha dato i migliori consigli locali e abbiamo conosciuto attività, negozi, caffè, pub e programmi locali che altrimenti sarebbe stato difficile scoprire o pianificare - dopo un paio di settimane lì, eravamo noi a dare consigli di viaggio ad altri nomadi digitali. Ho potuto lavorare da remoto per il mio lavoro negli Stati Uniti, in un ambiente sicuro e confortevole, con un buon wi-fi e la splendida compagnia dei miei compagni Venturers with Impact. In futuro metterei sicuramente i miei piani di viaggio/lavoro da remoto nelle mani del team VWI.
I love traveling and moved around quite a bit on my own so far, but the experience offered by Venture with Impact has an extra layer of close immersion in the local culture - like tile making classes, or electric bike tours in a portuguese fishermen village - that I would've otherwise not gotten a chance to do. On top of that I got to learn a lot about the workings of non-profits and education in Portugal through my wonderful volunteer opportunity. Our program manager gave us the best local recommendations and we got to experience local businesses, shops, cafes, pubs, and programs that otherwise would've been difficult to discover or plan - after a couple of weeks there, we were the ones giving travel recommendations to other digital nomads. I got to work remotely for my job in the US, in a safe and comfy environment, with good wi-fi, and the great company of my fellow Venturers with Impact. I would definitely put my travel/remote work plans in the hands of VWI team in the future.
