Awake Siargao

Ho passato un periodo incredibile a questo surf retreat, è stata la fuga perfetta. Tutto era così ben organizzato da rendere l'intera esperienza completamente senza stress. Rem è stata fantastica e ha fatto sembrare l'esperienza davvero personale. Ci ha portato negli spot di surf migliori e ha condiviso un'ottima conoscenza locale, non solo sulle onde ma anche sul cibo e sulla zona. Avere tutto incluso ha reso facilissimo rilassarsi e concentrarsi sul surf.
I coach erano anche abbinati perfettamente ai nostri livelli di surf, il che ha fatto una grande differenza nel progredire e sentirsi a proprio agio in acqua.
Onestamente non potrei consigliare abbastanza questo ritiro. Se stai pensando di fare un surf retreat, è questo!

I had an incredible time at this surf retreat, it was the perfect getaway. Everything was so well organised and made the whole experience completely stress-free. Rem was amazing and made the experience feel really personal. She took us to the best surf spots and shared great local knowledge, not just about the waves but also the food and the area. Having everything included made it so easy to just relax and focus on surfing.
The coaches were also matched perfectly to our surf levels, which made a huge difference in progressing and feeling comfortable in the water.
I honestly couldn’t recommend this retreat enough. If you’re thinking about doing a surf retreat, this is the one!

Ho fatto un ritiro privato a febbraio 2026 e l'ho ADORATO. Rem è una forza di gioia, buone vibrazioni, premura e competenza. Ha messo insieme un posto dove stare (l'ostello Bajala), il trasporto quotidiano verso i break (moto, furgoni, barche), un coach meraviglioso (Estong) e, forse soprattutto, ha capito quale break fosse il migliore ogni giorno, in base a swell, marea, venti, al mio livello, a dove sarebbe stata la folla, ecc. Volevo lavorare su carving e virate e il mio coach si è assicurato che fossi posizionato per prendere onde della giusta dimensione, è stato estremamente paziente e mi ha dato ottimi feedback e incoraggiamento mentre miglioravo lentamente. C'era un'altra persona che faceva un ritiro privato nello stesso periodo ed è stato bello conoscere anche lui. Anche in piena stagione delle piogge, Siargao è incredibilmente bella. Tornerò sicuramente!!

I did a private retreat in February 2026 and LOVED it. Rem is a force of joy, good vibes, caring, and competence. She packaged a place to stay (the Bajala hostel), daily transport to the breaks (motorcycles, vans, boats), a wonderful coach (Estong), and maybe most importantly--figured out which break was best each day, depending on the swell, tide, winds, my skill level, where the crowds would be, etc. I wanted to work on carving and turns, and my coach made sure I was positioned to go for the right size waves and was extremely patient and gave great feedback and encouragement as I slowly improved. There was one other person also doing a private retreat at the same time, and it was nice to connect with him as well. Even in the middle of the rainy season, Siargao is incredibly beautiful. I will definitely be back!!

Ho avuto la migliore esperienza di surf di sempre con Rem all'Awake Surf & Yoga Retreat a Siargao! Ogni posto per pranzo e cena era scelto con cura così da poter gustare alcune delle migliori cucine dell'isola.

Uno dei momenti assolutamente più belli del ritiro è stata la gita in giornata all'isola di Mam-On — un'esperienza così bella e indimenticabile!

Per tutto il soggiorno, Rem mi ha fatto sentire così benvenuta e accudita — onestamente sembrava di essere a casa. L'intero ritiro aveva un'atmosfera così positiva e rilassata.

Consiglio vivamente questo ritiro a chiunque ami il surf o voglia semplicemente vivere Siargao con grande energia, cibo fantastico e genuina ospitalità. Tornerò sicuramente!

I had the best surfing experience ever with Rem at Awake Surf & Yoga Retreat in Siargao! From the very beginning, she was incredibly flexible and accommodating—she adjusted schedules to make sure I had the best possible surf conditions, which made a huge difference to my experience.

Rem truly goes above and beyond for her guests. She took such great care of everyone and paid close attention to each person’s individual surfing level, making sure we all had a safe, fun, and rewarding time in the water.

My stay at Muimui Villa Resort was also wonderful—comfortable, relaxing, and with a delicious breakfast included every morning. What really stood out was how thoughtfully Rem curated all the meals. Every lunch and dinner spot was carefully chosen so we could enjoy some of the best cuisine on the island.

One of the absolute highlights of the retreat was the island day trip to Mam-On Island—such a beautiful and unforgettable experience!

Throughout the entire stay, Rem made me feel so welcome and cared for—it honestly felt like being at home. The whole retreat had such a positive, relaxed vibe.

I highly recommend this retreat to anyone who loves surfing or simply wants to experience Siargao with great energy, amazing food, and genuine hospitality. I will definitely be back!

Abbiamo passato la settimana più bella con Awake Siargao. Fin dal primo giorno tutto sembrava accogliente, rilassato e organizzato alla perfezione, soprattutto ottimo per i principianti. Ci siamo sentiti subito a nostro agio e abbiamo fatto grandi progressi in poco tempo.

Rem è incredibile e pensa davvero a ogni dettaglio per rendere speciale il retreat. Dal bel posto in cui abbiamo alloggiato ai ristoranti fantastici, agli spot di surf stupendi e alle attività extra, tutto era scelto con cura e si incastrava alla perfezione. Gli istruttori di surf erano eccezionali e hanno avuto un ruolo enorme nel rendere l'esperienza così piacevole e nel darci fiducia.

Non possiamo consigliare abbastanza questo retreat e ci piacerebbe tornare: ci manca già! 🌊✨

We had the most beautiful week with Awake Siargao. From the very first day, everything felt welcoming, relaxed, and perfectly organized — especially great for beginners. We felt comfortable right away and made great progress in a short time.

Rem is incredible and truly thinks of every detail to make the retreat special. From the lovely place we stayed at, to the amazing restaurants, stunning surf spots, and the extra activities, everything was thoughtfully chosen and came together perfectly. The surf instructors were outstanding and played a huge part in making the experience so enjoyable and confidence-boosting.

Ho avuto un'esperienza fantastica ad Awake Siargao — ha davvero superato le mie aspettative. Rem, la fondatrice, dà completamente il tono. È super calorosa, accogliente e ha questa energia genuinamente frizzante che ti fa sentire subito a tuo agio. Si vede che ha messo un sacco di cura nell'intero programma, e si vede in ogni dettaglio.

Anche gli istruttori di surf erano fantastici — davvero bravi, pazienti e incoraggianti. Ciò che mi ha colpito di più è come tutto il team lavori insieme per assicurarsi che tu sia sempre nel miglior spot di surf in base alle condizioni di quel giorno.

Una delle cose più belle è stato quanto tutto sembrasse poco turistico. Siamo andati persino su un'isola piuttosto remota dove non c'era praticamente nessun altro, il che ha reso tutto il viaggio davvero speciale e unico.

Rem ha scelto anche ristoranti incredibili durante il viaggio, ogni pasto era qualcosa da aspettare con impazienza e fa davvero di tutto per assicurarsi che tutti siano a proprio agio e si divertano. Sembrava tutto davvero ponderato e ben fatto.

I had such a great experience at Awake Siargao — it really exceeded my expectations. Rem, the founder, completely sets the tone. She’s super warm, welcoming, and just has this genuinely bubbly energy that makes you feel comfortable right away. You can tell she’s put a ton of thought into the whole program, and it shows in every detail.

The surf instructors were also amazing — really skilled, patient, and encouraging. What stood out most is how the whole team works together to make sure you’re always at the best surf spot depending on the conditions that day.

One of the coolest parts was how non-touristy everything felt. We even went out to a pretty remote island where there were basically no other people around, which made the whole trip feel really special and unique.

Rem also picked incredible restaurants throughout the trip, every meal was something to look forward to and she genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. It just felt really thoughtful and well put together.

Ho passato una settimana assolutamente incredibile a questo surf retreat! Non avevo mai fatto surf prima, ma dal momento in cui sono arrivata mi sono sentita così a mio agio e accolta. Rem ha fatto di tutto per rendere l'esperienza sana, divertente e su misura per le esigenze di tutti. Ho imparato tantissime nuove abilità e acquisito sicurezza in acqua, il tutto circondata da un ambiente così positivo e di supporto. I had an absolutely incredible week at this surf retreat! I had never surfed before, but from the moment I arrived, I felt so comfortable and welcomed. Rem went above and beyond to make the experience wholesome, fun, and tailored to everyone’s needs. I learned so many new skills and gained confidence in the water, all while surrounded by such a positive and supportive environment. I can’t recommend this retreat enough and would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Il nostro retreat di surf di una settimana è stato davvero uno dei viaggi più memorabili che abbiamo fatto. Fin dall'inizio Rem è stata eccezionalmente reattiva e di supporto durante la fase di pianificazione, arrivando perfino a concordare con noi date del retreat adatte al nostro gruppo. Questa flessibilità ha subito reso l'esperienza fluida e personalizzata.

Ciò che ha distinto il viaggio è stato il livello di cura e attenzione che Rem ha messo in ogni dettaglio, sembrava davvero di essere guidati da qualcuno con una vera passione per la zona. Ci ha portati in molti dei suoi ristoranti e caffè locali preferiti, che sono diventati alcuni dei momenti migliori della settimana.

Anche il coaching 1:1 è stato eccezionale. Gli istruttori erano rispettosi, coinvolgenti e molto competenti, e le loro indicazioni hanno aumentato notevolmente la nostra sicurezza in acqua. Ogni giorno ci venivano a prendere in scooter/moto e ci portavano allo spot di surf del giorno, il che aggiungeva senso di avventura. In diverse occasioni abbiamo avuto il break quasi tutto per noi, rendendo l'esperienza ancora più speciale.

Durante il retreat abbiamo anche festeggiato due compleanni e Rem ha fatto di tutto per renderli memorabili, organizzando torte di compleanno e piccole celebrazioni per entrambe le occasioni.

Tra l'ottimo surf, i bellissimi dintorni e l'eccezionale ospitalità di Rem, è stata un'esperienza davvero unica e personale. Siamo tornati con ricordi meravigliosi e consiglieremmo vivamente questo retreat a chiunque cerchi un viaggio di surf accogliente, rilassato e curato con attenzione.

Our week-long surf retreat was truly one of the most memorable trips we’ve taken. From the outset, Rem was exceptionally responsive and supportive during the planning stages, even working with us to schedule retreat dates that suited our group. This flexibility immediately made the experience feel both seamless and personalised.

What set the trip apart was the level of care and attention Rem put into every detail, it really felt like we were being guided by someone with a genuine passion for the area. She took us to many of her favourite local restaurants and cafés, which became some of the highlights of the week.

The 1:1 coaching was also outstanding. The coaches were respectful, engaging, and highly knowledgeable, and their guidance significantly boosted our confidence in the water. Each day they picked us up by scooter/motorbike and took us to the day’s surf location, which added to the sense of adventure. On several occasions we had the break almost entirely to ourselves, making the experience even more special.

We also celebrated two birthdays during the retreat, and Rem went above and beyond to make them memorable, organising birthday cakes and small celebrations for both occasions.

Between the excellent surf, beautiful surroundings, and Rem’s exceptional hosting, it was a truly unique and personal experience. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend this retreat to anyone seeking a welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated surf trip.

Questa settimana è stata più di una semplice vacanza, Remalyn ha creato qualcosa di così speciale che resterà con me per sempre.
Non importa se prenoti questo viaggio da solo o con amici, sarai accudito come in famiglia, ogni dettaglio è curato.
Dallo scoprire la vera bellezza dell’isola e fare surf in alcuni degli spot più incredibili, al gustare il cibo locale e attività extra come yoga e CrossFit, ogni momento è sembrato significativo e indimenticabile.
Senza contare le persone incredibili che ho incontrato lungo il cammino: amicizie nate e ispirazione ricevuta che resteranno con me molto dopo questa settimana.

This week was more than just a holiday, Remalyn has created something so special that will stay with me forever.
It doesn't matter if you book this trip solo or with friends you will be looked after like family, every detail is taken care of.
From discovering the island’s true beauty and surfing some of the most incredible spots, to enjoying local food and extra activities like yoga and CrossFit, every moment felt meaningful and unforgettable.
Not to mention the incredible people I met along the way—friendships formed and inspiration gained that will stay with me long after this week.

Ho passato la settimana più bella con awake. Rem è incredibile e pensa a ogni modo possibile per rendere il tuo ritiro il più speciale possibile. Dal posto in cui abbiamo alloggiato, ai tanti ristoranti diversi in cui ci ha portato, agli spot di surf stupendi, ai coach che abbiamo avuto e alle attività extra, tutto ha contribuito a una settimana perfetta. Non posso consigliarlo abbastanza e tornerò molto presto perché mi manca già!

From the place we stayed, to the many different restaurants she took us to, the stunning surf spots, the coaches we had and the extra activities all made for the most perfect week. Retreat da 11/10! Per chi ama lo sport questo era il retreat perfetto. Se non hai mai fatto surf prima, questo retreat ti offre coaching individuale, più spot di surf, non affollati e in uno dei luoghi più splendidi/sereni del mondo. Oltre al surf ci sono opzioni di Yoga/Crossfit e bagni di ghiaccio per un’esperienza di benessere completa. Sia lo staff sia gli ospiti sono tutti molto cordiali, il che rende l’esperienza piacevole anche al di là dello sport. In tutto e per tutto, se avrò l’opportunità di tornare lo rifarei e sarei il primo a consigliare questo retreat ad altri che visitano Siargao.

11/10 Retreat! For someone who loves sports this was the perfect retreat. From having never surfed before this retreat gives you individual coaching, multiple surf spots, uncrowded and in one of the the most stunning/serene locations in the world. Alongside the surf there are options to do Yoga/Crossfit and ice baths creating a full wellness experience. the staff as well as the quests are all very friendly making it a pleasant experience beyond the sports. All in all, if I get the opportunity to go back I would do it again and I would be the first to recommend this retreat for others visiting Siargao.
