Tive um tempo incrível neste retiro de surf, foi a escapada perfeita. Tudo foi tão bem organizado e fez a experiência toda ser completamente livre de estresse. A Rem foi incrível e fez a experiência parecer muito pessoal. Ela nos levou aos melhores picos de surf e compartilhou ótimo conhecimento local, não só sobre as ondas, mas também sobre a comida e a região. Ter tudo incluído tornou tão fácil simplesmente relaxar e focar no surf.
Os treinadores também foram combinados perfeitamente com nossos níveis de surf, o que fez uma enorme diferença para progredir e se sentir confortável na água.
Sinceramente, não consigo recomendar este retiro o suficiente. Se você está pensando em fazer um retiro de surf, é este!

I had an incredible time at this surf retreat, it was the perfect getaway. Everything was so well organised and made the whole experience completely stress-free. Rem was amazing and made the experience feel really personal. She took us to the best surf spots and shared great local knowledge, not just about the waves but also the food and the area. Having everything included made it so easy to just relax and focus on surfing.
The coaches were also matched perfectly to our surf levels, which made a huge difference in progressing and feeling comfortable in the water.
I honestly couldn’t recommend this retreat enough. If you’re thinking about doing a surf retreat, this is the one!

Fiz um retiro privado em fevereiro de 2026 e AMEI. A Rem é uma força de alegria, boas vibes, cuidado e competência. Ela montou um pacote com um lugar para ficar (o hostel Bajala), transporte diário até os picos (motos, vans, barcos), um técnico maravilhoso (Estong) e, talvez o mais importante--descobria qual pico era o melhor a cada dia, dependendo do swell, da maré, dos ventos, do meu nível, de onde estaria a multidão, etc. Eu queria trabalhar em carving e curvas, e meu técnico garantiu que eu estivesse bem posicionado para pegar ondas do tamanho certo e foi extremamente paciente e deu ótimo feedback e incentivo enquanto eu melhorava aos poucos. Havia outra pessoa também fazendo um retiro privado ao mesmo tempo, e foi legal me conectar com ele também. Mesmo no meio da estação das chuvas, Siargao é incrivelmente linda. Com certeza volto!!

I did a private retreat in February 2026 and LOVED it. Rem is a force of joy, good vibes, caring, and competence. She packaged a place to stay (the Bajala hostel), daily transport to the breaks (motorcycles, vans, boats), a wonderful coach (Estong), and maybe most importantly--figured out which break was best each day, depending on the swell, tide, winds, my skill level, where the crowds would be, etc. I wanted to work on carving and turns, and my coach made sure I was positioned to go for the right size waves and was extremely patient and gave great feedback and encouragement as I slowly improved. There was one other person also doing a private retreat at the same time, and it was nice to connect with him as well. Even in the middle of the rainy season, Siargao is incredibly beautiful. I will definitely be back!!

Um dos pontos mais altos do retiro foi o passeio de um dia à Mam-On Island—uma experiência tão linda e inesquecível!

I had the best surfing experience ever with Rem at Awake Surf & Yoga Retreat in Siargao! From the very beginning, she was incredibly flexible and accommodating—she adjusted schedules to make sure I had the best possible surf conditions, which made a huge difference to my experience.

Rem truly goes above and beyond for her guests. She took such great care of everyone and paid close attention to each person’s individual surfing level, making sure we all had a safe, fun, and rewarding time in the water.

My stay at Muimui Villa Resort was also wonderful—comfortable, relaxing, and with a delicious breakfast included every morning. What really stood out was how thoughtfully Rem curated all the meals. Every lunch and dinner spot was carefully chosen so we could enjoy some of the best cuisine on the island.

One of the absolute highlights of the retreat was the island day trip to Mam-On Island—such a beautiful and unforgettable experience!

Throughout the entire stay, Rem made me feel so welcome and cared for—it honestly felt like being at home. The whole retreat had such a positive, relaxed vibe.

I highly recommend this retreat to anyone who loves surfing or simply wants to experience Siargao with great energy, amazing food, and genuine hospitality. I will definitely be back!

We had the most beautiful week with Awake Siargao. From the very first day, everything felt welcoming, relaxed, and perfectly organized — especially great for beginners. We felt comfortable right away and made great progress in a short time.

Rem is incredible and truly thinks of every detail to make the retreat special. From the lovely place we stayed at, to the amazing restaurants, stunning surf spots, and the extra activities, everything was thoughtfully chosen and came together perfectly. The surf instructors were outstanding and played a huge part in making the experience so enjoyable and confidence-boosting.

Tive uma experiência tão ótima na Awake Siargao — superou muito minhas expectativas. A Rem, a fundadora, define completamente o tom. Ela é super calorosa, acolhedora e tem essa energia genuinamente borbulhante que faz você se sentir confortável na hora. Uma das partes mais legais foi como tudo parecia nada turístico. Chegamos a ir a uma ilha bem remota onde basicamente não havia mais ninguém, o que fez toda a viagem parecer muito especial e única.

A Rem também escolheu restaurantes incríveis durante a viagem, toda refeição era algo para aguardar com ansiedade e ela realmente faz mais do que o esperado para garantir que todos estejam confortáveis e se divertindo. Pareceu tudo muito atencioso e bem montado.

I had such a great experience at Awake Siargao — it really exceeded my expectations. Rem, the founder, completely sets the tone. She’s super warm, welcoming, and just has this genuinely bubbly energy that makes you feel comfortable right away. You can tell she’s put a ton of thought into the whole program, and it shows in every detail.

The surf instructors were also amazing — really skilled, patient, and encouraging. What stood out most is how the whole team works together to make sure you’re always at the best surf spot depending on the conditions that day.

One of the coolest parts was how non-touristy everything felt. We even went out to a pretty remote island where there were basically no other people around, which made the whole trip feel really special and unique.

Rem also picked incredible restaurants throughout the trip, every meal was something to look forward to and she genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. It just felt really thoughtful and well put together.

I had an absolutely incredible week at this surf retreat! I had never surfed before, but from the moment I arrived, I felt so comfortable and welcomed. Rem went above and beyond to make the experience wholesome, fun, and tailored to everyone’s needs. I learned so many new skills and gained confidence in the water, all while surrounded by such a positive and supportive environment. I can’t recommend this retreat enough and would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Nosso retiro de surf de uma semana foi realmente uma das viagens mais memoráveis que já fizemos. Desde o início, a Rem foi excepcionalmente atenciosa e prestativa na fase de planejamento, chegando a trabalhar conosco para marcar datas do retiro que servissem ao nosso grupo. O coaching individual também foi excepcional. Os instrutores foram respeitosos, envolventes e muito conhecedores, e a orientação deles aumentou muito a nossa confiança na água. Todos os dias eles nos buscavam de scooter/moto e nos levavam ao pico de surf do dia, o que aumentava a sensação de aventura. Em várias ocasiões tivemos a onda quase só para nós, deixando a experiência ainda mais especial.

Também comemoramos dois aniversários durante o retiro, e a Rem fez de tudo para torná-los memoráveis, organizando bolos de aniversário e pequenas comemorações nas duas ocasiões.

Entre o surf excelente, o cenário lindo e a hospitalidade excepcional da Rem, foi uma experiência realmente única e pessoal. Saímos com memórias maravilhosas e recomendamos muito este retiro a quem busca uma viagem de surf acolhedora, descontraída e cuidadosamente planejada.

Our week-long surf retreat was truly one of the most memorable trips we’ve taken. From the outset, Rem was exceptionally responsive and supportive during the planning stages, even working with us to schedule retreat dates that suited our group. This flexibility immediately made the experience feel both seamless and personalised.

What set the trip apart was the level of care and attention Rem put into every detail, it really felt like we were being guided by someone with a genuine passion for the area. She took us to many of her favourite local restaurants and cafés, which became some of the highlights of the week.

The 1:1 coaching was also outstanding. The coaches were respectful, engaging, and highly knowledgeable, and their guidance significantly boosted our confidence in the water. Each day they picked us up by scooter/motorbike and took us to the day’s surf location, which added to the sense of adventure. On several occasions we had the break almost entirely to ourselves, making the experience even more special.

We also celebrated two birthdays during the retreat, and Rem went above and beyond to make them memorable, organising birthday cakes and small celebrations for both occasions.

Between the excellent surf, beautiful surroundings, and Rem’s exceptional hosting, it was a truly unique and personal experience. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend this retreat to anyone seeking a welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated surf trip.

Esta semana foi mais do que apenas férias, a Remalyn criou algo tão especial que vai ficar comigo para sempre.

It doesn't matter if you book this trip solo or with friends you will be looked after like family, every detail is taken care of.
From discovering the island’s true beauty and surfing some of the most incredible spots, to enjoying local food and extra activities like yoga and CrossFit, every moment felt meaningful and unforgettable.
Not to mention the incredible people I met along the way—friendships formed and inspiration gained that will stay with me long after this week.

Had the most beautiful week with awake. Rem is incredible and thinks of every possible way to make your retreat as special as possible. From the place we stayed, to the many different restaurants she took us to, the stunning surf spots, the coaches we had and the extra activities all made for the most perfect week. I cannot recommend enough and I will be back very soon as I miss it already!

Retiro nota 11/10! Para quem ama esportes, este foi o retiro perfeito. Mesmo nunca tendo surfado antes, este retiro oferece coaching individual, vários picos de surf, sem multidão e num dos lugares mais deslumbrantes/serenos do mundo. Além do surf, há opções de Yoga/Crossfit e banhos de gelo, criando uma experiência completa de bem-estar. A equipe e os hóspedes são todos muito simpáticos, tornando a experiência agradável para além dos esportes. Em suma, se eu tiver a oportunidade de voltar, faria de novo e seria o primeiro a recomendar este retiro para outras pessoas que visitem Siargao.

11/10 Retreat! For someone who loves sports this was the perfect retreat. From having never surfed before this retreat gives you individual coaching, multiple surf spots, uncrowded and in one of the the most stunning/serene locations in the world. Alongside the surf there are options to do Yoga/Crossfit and ice baths creating a full wellness experience. the staff as well as the quests are all very friendly making it a pleasant experience beyond the sports. All in all, if I get the opportunity to go back I would do it again and I would be the first to recommend this retreat for others visiting Siargao.
