Awake Siargao

Lo pasé genial en este retiro de surf, fue la escapada perfecta. Todo estaba tan bien organizado que hizo que toda la experiencia fuera completamente sin estrés. Rem fue increíble e hizo que la experiencia se sintiera muy personal. Nos llevó a los mejores spots de surf y compartió un gran conocimiento local, no solo sobre las olas sino también sobre la comida y la zona. Tener todo incluido hizo muy fácil simplemente relajarse y centrarse en el surf.
Los coaches también estaban emparejados a la perfección con nuestros niveles de surf, lo que supuso una gran diferencia para progresar y sentirse cómodo en el agua.
Sinceramente, no puedo recomendar este retiro lo suficiente. Si estás pensando en hacer un retiro de surf, ¡este es!

I had an incredible time at this surf retreat, it was the perfect getaway. Everything was so well organised and made the whole experience completely stress-free. Rem was amazing and made the experience feel really personal. She took us to the best surf spots and shared great local knowledge, not just about the waves but also the food and the area. Having everything included made it so easy to just relax and focus on surfing.
The coaches were also matched perfectly to our surf levels, which made a huge difference in progressing and feeling comfortable in the water.
I honestly couldn’t recommend this retreat enough. If you’re thinking about doing a surf retreat, this is the one!

Hice un retiro privado en febrero de 2026 y me ENCANTÓ. Rem es una fuerza de alegría, buenas vibras, cuidado y competencia. Montó un paquete con un lugar donde alojarse (el hostal Bajala), transporte diario a los breaks (motos, furgonetas, barcos), un coach maravilloso (Estong) y, quizá lo más importante, averiguaba cada día qué break era el mejor, según el oleaje, la marea, los vientos, mi nivel, dónde estaría la gente, etc. Quería trabajar el carving y los giros, y mi coach se aseguraba de que me colocara para ir a por olas del tamaño adecuado y fue extremadamente paciente y dio un gran feedback y ánimo mientras yo mejoraba poco a poco. Había otra persona haciendo también un retiro privado al mismo tiempo, y fue agradable conectar con él también. Incluso en plena temporada de lluvias, Siargao es increíblemente hermoso. ¡¡Seguro que volveré!!

I did a private retreat in February 2026 and LOVED it. Rem is a force of joy, good vibes, caring, and competence. She packaged a place to stay (the Bajala hostel), daily transport to the breaks (motorcycles, vans, boats), a wonderful coach (Estong), and maybe most importantly--figured out which break was best each day, depending on the swell, tide, winds, my skill level, where the crowds would be, etc. I wanted to work on carving and turns, and my coach made sure I was positioned to go for the right size waves and was extremely patient and gave great feedback and encouragement as I slowly improved. There was one other person also doing a private retreat at the same time, and it was nice to connect with him as well. Even in the middle of the rainy season, Siargao is incredibly beautiful. I will definitely be back!!

¡Tuve la mejor experiencia de surf de mi vida con Rem en Awake Surf & Yoga Retreat en Siargao! Desde el principio fue increíblemente flexible y complaciente: ajustó los horarios para asegurarse de que tuviera las mejores condiciones de surf posibles, lo que supuso una gran diferencia en mi experiencia.

Rem se esfuerza de verdad por sus huéspedes. Cuidó muy bien de todos y prestó mucha atención al nivel de surf individual de cada persona, asegurándose de que todos tuviéramos un rato seguro, divertido y gratificante en el agua.

Mi estancia en Muimui Villa Resort también fue maravillosa: cómoda, relajante y con un delicioso desayuno incluido cada mañana. Lo que de verdad destacó fue lo cuidadosamente que Rem seleccionó todas las comidas. Cada sitio para comer y cenar estaba elegido con esmero para que pudiéramos disfrutar de parte de la mejor cocina de la isla.

Uno de los momentos absolutamente más destacados del retiro fue la excursión de un día a la isla de Mam-On: ¡una experiencia tan hermosa e inolvidable!

Durante toda la estancia, Rem me hizo sentir tan bienvenida y cuidada: sinceramente, parecía estar en casa. Todo el retiro tenía una vibra tan positiva y relajada.

Recomiendo mucho este retiro a cualquiera que ame el surf o simplemente quiera vivir Siargao con gran energía, comida increíble y hospitalidad genuina. ¡Seguro que volveré!

I had the best surfing experience ever with Rem at Awake Surf & Yoga Retreat in Siargao! From the very beginning, she was incredibly flexible and accommodating—she adjusted schedules to make sure I had the best possible surf conditions, which made a huge difference to my experience.

Rem truly goes above and beyond for her guests. She took such great care of everyone and paid close attention to each person’s individual surfing level, making sure we all had a safe, fun, and rewarding time in the water.

My stay at Muimui Villa Resort was also wonderful—comfortable, relaxing, and with a delicious breakfast included every morning. What really stood out was how thoughtfully Rem curated all the meals. Every lunch and dinner spot was carefully chosen so we could enjoy some of the best cuisine on the island.

One of the absolute highlights of the retreat was the island day trip to Mam-On Island—such a beautiful and unforgettable experience!

Throughout the entire stay, Rem made me feel so welcome and cared for—it honestly felt like being at home. The whole retreat had such a positive, relaxed vibe.

I highly recommend this retreat to anyone who loves surfing or simply wants to experience Siargao with great energy, amazing food, and genuine hospitality. I will definitely be back!

Tuvimos la semana más bonita con Awake Siargao. Desde el primer día, todo se sintió acogedor, relajado y perfectamente organizado, algo especialmente bueno para principiantes. Nos sentimos cómodos enseguida y progresamos mucho en poco tiempo.

Rem es increíble y de verdad piensa en cada detalle para que el retiro sea especial. Desde el precioso lugar donde nos alojamos hasta los restaurantes increíbles, los impresionantes spots de surf y las actividades extra, todo estaba elegido con esmero y encajó a la perfección. Los instructores de surf fueron sobresalientes y tuvieron un papel enorme en que la experiencia fuera tan agradable y reforzara la confianza.

We had the most beautiful week with Awake Siargao. From the very first day, everything felt welcoming, relaxed, and perfectly organized — especially great for beginners. We felt comfortable right away and made great progress in a short time.

Rem is incredible and truly thinks of every detail to make the retreat special. From the lovely place we stayed at, to the amazing restaurants, stunning surf spots, and the extra activities, everything was thoughtfully chosen and came together perfectly. The surf instructors were outstanding and played a huge part in making the experience so enjoyable and confidence-boosting.

We can’t recommend this retreat enough and would love to come back — we already miss it! 🌊✨

Tuve una experiencia estupenda en Awake Siargao: de verdad superó mis expectativas. Rem, la fundadora, marca por completo el tono. Es súper cálida, acogedora y tiene una energía genuinamente burbujeante que te hace sentir cómoda enseguida. Se nota que ha puesto muchísima reflexión en todo el programa, y se ve en cada detalle.

Los instructores de surf también fueron increíbles: muy hábiles, pacientes y alentadores. Lo que más destacó es cómo todo el equipo trabaja junto para asegurarse de que siempre estés en el mejor spot de surf según las condiciones de ese día.

Una de las partes más guays fue lo poco turístico que se sentía todo. Incluso fuimos a una isla bastante remota donde básicamente no había nadie más, lo que hizo que todo el viaje se sintiera muy especial y único.

Rem también eligió restaurantes increíbles durante todo el viaje, cada comida era algo que esperar con ganas y de verdad se esfuerza al máximo para que todos estén cómodos y lo pasen bien. Simplemente se sintió muy cuidado y bien montado.

I had such a great experience at Awake Siargao — it really exceeded my expectations. Rem, the founder, completely sets the tone. She’s super warm, welcoming, and just has this genuinely bubbly energy that makes you feel comfortable right away. You can tell she’s put a ton of thought into the whole program, and it shows in every detail.

The surf instructors were also amazing — really skilled, patient, and encouraging. What stood out most is how the whole team works together to make sure you’re always at the best surf spot depending on the conditions that day.

One of the coolest parts was how non-touristy everything felt. We even went out to a pretty remote island where there were basically no other people around, which made the whole trip feel really special and unique.

Rem also picked incredible restaurants throughout the trip, every meal was something to look forward to and she genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. It just felt really thoughtful and well put together.

I had an absolutely incredible week at this surf retreat! I had never surfed before, but from the moment I arrived, I felt so comfortable and welcomed. Rem went above and beyond to make the experience wholesome, fun, and tailored to everyone’s needs. I learned so many new skills and gained confidence in the water, all while surrounded by such a positive and supportive environment. I can’t recommend this retreat enough and would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Nuestro retiro de surf de una semana fue de verdad uno de los viajes más memorables que hemos hecho. Desde el principio, Rem respondió de forma excepcional y nos apoyó durante la planificación, e incluso trabajó con nosotros para fijar fechas del retiro que le fueran bien a nuestro grupo. Esa flexibilidad hizo que la experiencia se sintiera enseguida fluida y personalizada.

Lo que distinguió el viaje fue el cuidado y la atención que Rem puso en cada detalle, de verdad parecía que nos guiaba alguien con una pasión genuina por la zona. Nos llevó a muchos de sus restaurantes y cafés locales favoritos, que se convirtieron en algunos de los mejores momentos de la semana.

Las clases individuales también fueron sobresalientes. Los entrenadores fueron respetuosos, amenos y con mucho conocimiento, y sus indicaciones aumentaron notablemente nuestra confianza en el agua. Cada día nos recogían en scooter/moto y nos llevaban al spot de surf del día, lo que sumaba sensación de aventura. En varias ocasiones tuvimos el spot casi para nosotros solos, lo que hizo la experiencia aún más especial.

También celebramos dos cumpleaños durante el retiro y Rem se esforzó muchísimo para que fueran memorables, organizando tartas de cumpleaños y pequeñas celebraciones en ambas ocasiones.

Entre el excelente surf, el entorno precioso y la extraordinaria hospitalidad de Rem, fue una experiencia verdaderamente única y personal. Nos fuimos con recuerdos maravillosos y recomendamos mucho este retiro a cualquiera que busque un viaje de surf acogedor, relajado y cuidadosamente pensado.

Our week-long surf retreat was truly one of the most memorable trips we’ve taken. From the outset, Rem was exceptionally responsive and supportive during the planning stages, even working with us to schedule retreat dates that suited our group. This flexibility immediately made the experience feel both seamless and personalised.

What set the trip apart was the level of care and attention Rem put into every detail, it really felt like we were being guided by someone with a genuine passion for the area. She took us to many of her favourite local restaurants and cafés, which became some of the highlights of the week.

The 1:1 coaching was also outstanding. The coaches were respectful, engaging, and highly knowledgeable, and their guidance significantly boosted our confidence in the water. Each day they picked us up by scooter/motorbike and took us to the day’s surf location, which added to the sense of adventure. On several occasions we had the break almost entirely to ourselves, making the experience even more special.

We also celebrated two birthdays during the retreat, and Rem went above and beyond to make them memorable, organising birthday cakes and small celebrations for both occasions.

Between the excellent surf, beautiful surroundings, and Rem’s exceptional hosting, it was a truly unique and personal experience. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend this retreat to anyone seeking a welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated surf trip.

Esta semana fue más que unas simples vacaciones, Remalyn ha creado algo tan especial que se quedará conmigo para siempre.
No importa si reservas este viaje sola o con amigos, te cuidarán como a una familia, se encargan de cada detalle.
Desde descubrir la verdadera belleza de la isla y surfear algunos de los spots más increíbles, hasta disfrutar de la comida local y de actividades extra como yoga y CrossFit, cada momento resultó significativo e inolvidable.
Sin olvidar a la gente increíble que conocí por el camino: amistades que se formaron e inspiración que ganó, que se quedarán conmigo mucho después de esta semana.

This week was more than just a holiday, Remalyn has created something so special that will stay with me forever.
It doesn't matter if you book this trip solo or with friends you will be looked after like family, every detail is taken care of.
From discovering the island’s true beauty and surfing some of the most incredible spots, to enjoying local food and extra activities like yoga and CrossFit, every moment felt meaningful and unforgettable.
Not to mention the incredible people I met along the way—friendships formed and inspiration gained that will stay with me long after this week.

Had the most beautiful week with awake. Rem is incredible and thinks of every possible way to make your retreat as special as possible. From the place we stayed, to the many different restaurants she took us to, the stunning surf spots, the coaches we had and the extra activities all made for the most perfect week. ¡Retiro de 11/10! Para alguien a quien le encanta el deporte, este fue el retiro perfecto. Aunque nunca había surfeado antes, este retiro te da coaching individual, varios spots de surf, sin aglomeraciones y en uno de los lugares más impresionantes/serenos del mundo. Junto al surf hay opciones de hacer yoga/crossfit y baños de hielo, creando una experiencia de bienestar completa. el personal y también los huéspedes son todos muy amables, lo que hace que la experiencia sea agradable más allá del deporte. En resumen, si tengo la oportunidad de volver lo volvería a hacer y sería el primero en recomendar este retiro a otros que visiten Siargao.

11/10 Retreat! For someone who loves sports this was the perfect retreat. From having never surfed before this retreat gives you individual coaching, multiple surf spots, uncrowded and in one of the the most stunning/serene locations in the world. Alongside the surf there are options to do Yoga/Crossfit and ice baths creating a full wellness experience. the staff as well as the quests are all very friendly making it a pleasant experience beyond the sports. All in all, if I get the opportunity to go back I would do it again and I would be the first to recommend this retreat for others visiting Siargao.
