Africa Nomads: Adís Abeba, Etiopía 🇪🇹

Estuvimos con Africa Nomads 3 meses, empezando en Lamu y continuando con ellos en sus 2 primeros chapters fuera de Kenia, en Adís Abeba y Zanzíbar. Fue con diferencia una de las mejores experiencias que hemos tenido y ya estoy esperando nuestro próximo viaje con ellos ❤️

Tuvimos la suerte de pasar tiempo con cada uno de los anfitriones, Alejandra, Steve, Felipe y Pepe, ¡¡y las palabras no pueden explicar lo especiales que son estas 4 personas!! Cada uno de ellos hizo todo lo posible para que todo saliera bien, a pesar de algunos de los desafíos que África nos puso delante 😅 Su cuidado por sus huéspedes es increíble; desde encargarse del wifi y de logísticas complicadas hasta pasar horas investigando cómo puedes practicar un hobby que has mencionado que te gusta solo para que tu experiencia sea aún mejor 🫶

Pero más que nada, su amor por África y su conocimiento de los lugares donde nos alojamos hizo que nos sintiéramos realmente involucrados en la comunidad local, algo que puede ser difícil de lograr cuando viajas.
En general, han creado algo muy hermoso aquí, reuniendo a desconocidos que se van sintiéndose como familia 🫶 ¡No podría recomendarlos más!
Ya estamos pendientes de futuras ubicaciones, ¡¡de verdad los seguiríamos a cualquier parte!!

We stayed with Africa Nomads for 3 months, starting in Lamu and continuing with them on their first 2 chapters outside of Kenya to Addis Ababa and Zanzibar. It was by far one of the best experiences we’ve ever had and I’m already looking forward to our next trip with them ❤️

We were lucky enough to spend time with each of the hosts, Alejandra, Steve, Felipe and Pepe, and words can’t explain how special these 4 people are!! Each of them went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly, despite some of the challenges Africa threw at us 😅 Their care for their guests is unbelievable; from handling wifi and complicated logistics to spending hours researching how you can do a hobby you’ve mentioned that you like just to make your experience that much better 🫶

But more than anything, their love of Africa and their knowledge of the places we stayed meant that we really felt involved in the local community, something that can be difficult to achieve when travelling.
Overall, they have create something very beautiful here, bringing strangers together that leave feeling like family 🫶 I couldn’t recommend them more highly!
We are already keeping an eye out for future locations, we would truly follow them anywhere!!

Acabo de terminar la estancia de 3 meses más increíble con Africa Nomads (de Lamu a Adís Abeba y luego a Zanzíbar) y no sé cómo transmitir adecuadamente el nivel de aprecio y adoración que siento por estos humanos increíbles <3 <3 Esta gente REALMENTE conoce África, y eso marca una DIFERENCIA ENORME a la hora de gestionar el trabajo y la logística lejos, muy lejos de casa. No solo atienden todos tus deseos, sino que son el tipo de personas que te cuelan regalos en la bolsa antes de irte...

Hazte un favor y conoce estos lugares con esta gente. ¡No te arrepentirás ni por un segundo! Iré adonde vaya Africa Nomads. Hasta que nos volvamos a ver, probablemente en no más de unos meses.

I've just ended the most incredible 3 month stay with Africa Nomads - from Lamu to Addis Ababa and then to Zanzibar - and I don't know how to appropriately convey the level of appreciation and adoration I have for these incredible humans <3 <3 These folks really KNOW Africa; and it makes a HUGE difference when navigating work and logistics far far from home. Not only do they cater to your every desire, but they're the type of people who sneak gifts into your bag before you leave...

Do yourself a favor and get to know these places with these people. You won't regret it for a second! I will go anywhere Africa Nomads goes. Until we meet again, probably in no more than a few months!

Acabo de terminar un viaje de 3 meses con Africa Nomads, uniéndome a ellos en los capítulos de Lamu, Adís Abeba y Zanzíbar. Sinceramente ha sido una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido.

Los anfitriones son increíbles guiándote por la naturaleza a veces caótica de estos maravillosos lugares, se esfuerzan al máximo por proporcionar internet y siempre te mantienen ocupado con un programa de actividades a medida.

¡Recomiendo mucho unirte a ellos para uno o tres capítulos!

I've just finished a 3 month trip with Africa nomad, joining them for chapters in Lamu, Addis Ababa and Zanzibar. It's honestly been one of the greatest experiences I've had.

The hosts are amazing at guiding you through the sometimes chaotic nature of these wonderful locations, go above and beyond to provide internet and always keep you busy with a tailored schedule of activities.

Highly recommend joining them for a chapter or three!

Había querido visitar el África subsahariana, pero dudaba porque me preocupaban cuestiones como la fiabilidad de la electricidad y el wifi. No había estado antes en una situación de coliving/coworking, pero cuando me topé con AfricaNomads me pareció una buena forma de vivir África.

Me alojé en Nairobi seis semanas. Como mujer de mediados de los 60, estaba un poco preocupada, pero todos fueron superaceptadores y me invitaron a todas partes aunque la mayoría tenían edad para ser mis hijos o nietos. :) De verdad sentí que hice amigos para toda la vida durante mi estancia.

La electricidad y el wifi estaban por lo general disponibles, y la estancia incluye una tarjeta SIM local y todos los datos que necesitas. Hay muchísimas actividades a las que puedes unirte, o no, incluyendo todas las cosas turísticas habituales además de experiencias de sitios escondidos que solo consigues de la gente que vive allí.

Los miembros de mi grupo estaban sin duda allí para trabajar y por lo general eran tranquilos y ordenados. Tuve una experiencia tan buena en Nairobi que pienso unirme otra vez al grupo más adelante este año para Lamu y Etiopía.

Alejandra y Felipe vienen de la industria de la hostelería y se nota mucho. Se desviven por darte cualquier información o ayuda que necesites y tuvieron una paciencia infinita con todas nuestras exigencias del primer mundo. :)

I'd wanted to visit sub-Saharan Africa but hesitated because I was concerned about issues such as reliable electricity and wifi. I hadn't stayed in a coliving/coworking situation before but when I encountered AfricaNomads it seemed like a good way to experience Africa.

I stayed in Nairobi for six weeks. As a woman in her mid-60s I was a little concerned but everyone was super accepting and invited me everywhere even though most of them were young enough to be my children or grandchildren. :) I really felt like I made lifelong friends during my stay.

Electricity and wifi were generally available, and the stay includes a local sim card and all the data you need. There are plenty of activities you can join in with, or not, including all the standard tourist things as well as hole-in-the-wall experiences you only get from people living there.

Members in my group were definitely there to work, and were generally quiet and tidy. I had such a good experience in Nairobi that I'm planning to join the group again later this year for Lamu and Ethiopia.

Alejandra and Felipe come from the hospitality industry and it really shows. They bend over backwards to provide whatever information or help that you need and were endlessly patient with all our first world demands. :)
