Africa Nomads: Adis Abeba, Etiópia 🇪🇹

Ficamos com a Africa Nomads por 3 meses, começando em Lamu e continuando com eles nos seus 2 primeiros chapters fora do Quênia, em Adis Abeba e Zanzibar. Foi de longe uma das melhores experiências que já tivemos e já estou ansiosa pela nossa próxima viagem com eles ❤️

Tivemos a sorte de passar um tempo com cada um dos anfitriões, Alejandra, Steve, Felipe e Pepe, e as palavras não conseguem explicar o quanto essas 4 pessoas são especiais!! Cada um deles fez muito mais do que o esperado para garantir que tudo corresse bem, apesar de alguns dos desafios que a África nos jogou 😅 O cuidado deles com os hóspedes é inacreditável; de lidar com wifi e logística complicada a passar horas pesquisando como você pode praticar um hobby que você mencionou que gosta só para tornar sua experiência ainda melhor 🫶

Mas mais do que tudo, o amor deles pela África e o conhecimento dos lugares onde ficamos fizeram com que realmente nos sentíssemos envolvidos na comunidade local, algo que pode ser difícil de conseguir quando se viaja.
No geral, eles criaram algo muito lindo aqui, reunindo estranhos que saem se sentindo como família 🫶 Não poderia recomendar mais!
Já estamos de olho em futuros locais, realmente os seguiríamos para qualquer lugar!!

We stayed with Africa Nomads for 3 months, starting in Lamu and continuing with them on their first 2 chapters outside of Kenya to Addis Ababa and Zanzibar. It was by far one of the best experiences we’ve ever had and I’m already looking forward to our next trip with them ❤️

We were lucky enough to spend time with each of the hosts, Alejandra, Steve, Felipe and Pepe, and words can’t explain how special these 4 people are!! Each of them went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly, despite some of the challenges Africa threw at us 😅 Their care for their guests is unbelievable; from handling wifi and complicated logistics to spending hours researching how you can do a hobby you’ve mentioned that you like just to make your experience that much better 🫶

But more than anything, their love of Africa and their knowledge of the places we stayed meant that we really felt involved in the local community, something that can be difficult to achieve when travelling.
Overall, they have create something very beautiful here, bringing strangers together that leave feeling like family 🫶 I couldn’t recommend them more highly!
We are already keeping an eye out for future locations, we would truly follow them anywhere!!

Acabei de terminar a estadia mais incrível de 3 meses com a Africa Nomads - de Lamu a Adis Abeba e depois a Zanzibar - e não sei como transmitir adequadamente o nível de apreço e adoração que tenho por esses seres humanos incríveis <3 <3 Essa galera realmente CONHECE a África; e isso faz uma ENORME diferença ao lidar com trabalho e logística muito, muito longe de casa. Eles não só atendem a todos os seus desejos, como são o tipo de pessoa que coloca presentes escondidos na sua mala antes de você ir embora...

Faça um favor a você mesmo e conheça esses lugares com essas pessoas. Você não vai se arrepender nem por um segundo! Vou para qualquer lugar aonde a Africa Nomads for. Até nos encontrarmos de novo, provavelmente em não mais que alguns meses!

I've just ended the most incredible 3 month stay with Africa Nomads - from Lamu to Addis Ababa and then to Zanzibar - and I don't know how to appropriately convey the level of appreciation and adoration I have for these incredible humans <3 <3 These folks really KNOW Africa; and it makes a HUGE difference when navigating work and logistics far far from home. Not only do they cater to your every desire, but they're the type of people who sneak gifts into your bag before you leave...

Do yourself a favor and get to know these places with these people. You won't regret it for a second! I will go anywhere Africa Nomads goes. Until we meet again, probably in no more than a few months!

Acabei de terminar uma viagem de 3 meses com a Africa nomad, participando dos capítulos em Lamu, Adis Abeba e Zanzibar. Sinceramente, foi uma das maiores experiências que já tive.

Os anfitriões são incríveis em te guiar pela natureza às vezes caótica desses lugares maravilhosos, fazem de tudo para fornecer internet e sempre te mantêm ocupado com uma programação de atividades sob medida.

Recomendo muito participar de um capítulo ou três com eles!

I've just finished a 3 month trip with Africa nomad, joining them for chapters in Lamu, Addis Ababa and Zanzibar. It's honestly been one of the greatest experiences I've had.

The hosts are amazing at guiding you through the sometimes chaotic nature of these wonderful locations, go above and beyond to provide internet and always keep you busy with a tailored schedule of activities.

Highly recommend joining them for a chapter or three!

Eu queria visitar a África subsaariana, mas hesitava porque me preocupava com questões como eletricidade e wifi confiáveis. Eu nunca tinha ficado numa situação de coliving/coworking, mas quando encontrei a AfricaNomads pareceu uma boa forma de viver a África.

Fiquei em Nairóbi por seis semanas. Como uma mulher na casa dos 60 anos, eu estava um pouco preocupada, mas todos foram super receptivos e me convidavam para todo lugar, embora a maioria fosse jovem o bastante para ser meus filhos ou netos. :) Realmente senti que fiz amigos para a vida toda durante a minha estadia.

Eletricidade e wifi estavam geralmente disponíveis, e a estadia inclui um chip local e todos os dados de que você precisa. Há muitas atividades de que você pode participar, ou não, incluindo todas as coisas turísticas padrão, bem como experiências de buraco na parede que só se conseguem com quem mora lá.

Os membros do meu grupo estavam definitivamente lá para trabalhar e geralmente eram quietos e organizados. Tive uma experiência tão boa em Nairóbi que estou planejando me juntar ao grupo de novo ainda este ano para Lamu e Etiópia.

Alejandra e Felipe vêm do setor de hospitalidade e isso realmente aparece. Eles se desdobram para fornecer qualquer informação ou ajuda de que você precise e tiveram paciência infinita com todas as nossas exigências de primeiro mundo. :)

I'd wanted to visit sub-Saharan Africa but hesitated because I was concerned about issues such as reliable electricity and wifi. I hadn't stayed in a coliving/coworking situation before but when I encountered AfricaNomads it seemed like a good way to experience Africa.

I stayed in Nairobi for six weeks. As a woman in her mid-60s I was a little concerned but everyone was super accepting and invited me everywhere even though most of them were young enough to be my children or grandchildren. :) I really felt like I made lifelong friends during my stay.

Electricity and wifi were generally available, and the stay includes a local sim card and all the data you need. There are plenty of activities you can join in with, or not, including all the standard tourist things as well as hole-in-the-wall experiences you only get from people living there.

Members in my group were definitely there to work, and were generally quiet and tidy. I had such a good experience in Nairobi that I'm planning to join the group again later this year for Lamu and Ethiopia.

Alejandra and Felipe come from the hospitality industry and it really shows. They bend over backwards to provide whatever information or help that you need and were endlessly patient with all our first world demands. :)
