Ich bin im Oktober 2017 in Medellín, Kolumbien, bei VWI eingestiegen und der Monat verging wie im Flug. Bevor ich mich für VWI entschied, hatte ich schon eine ganze Weile nach dem passenden Programm für meinen Zeitplan gesucht. Das Mindestmonat-Modell funktioniert perfekt für jemanden, der etwas bewirken will, aber nicht 6+ Monate freinehmen kann. Anne war eine großartige Informationsquelle und ist klar leidenschaftlich für die Basisorganisation.

Ich habe die Leute an meinem Einsatzort geliebt und hoffe, sie haben unter meiner Anleitung ein paar kreative Fähigkeiten gelernt.

Ein großes Dankeschön an Jess dafür, so entgegenkommend wie möglich zu unserer Gruppe gewesen zu sein, die inzwischen gute Freunde geworden sind.

Zuletzt weckt das Programm auch den Wunsch, im eigenen Umfeld/in der eigenen Community proaktiver und wirkungsvoller zu sein, was mir sehr wichtig ist. Insgesamt: Wenn du in einer Zeit des Übergangs und der Ungewissheit nach etwas suchst, empfehle ich VWI als Weg, aus der eigenen Box herauszukommen und von Gleichgesinnten umgeben zu sein, die das Gespräch darüber am Laufen halten wollen, wie man etwas bewirkt.

I joined VWI for October 2017 in Medellin Colombia and the month flew by. Before choosing VWI, I had been searching for the right program to suit my timeline for quite some time. The month minimum set up works perfectly for someone who wants to make an impact but can’t necessarily take 6+ months off to do so. Anne was a great source of information and is clearly passionate about the grass roots organization.

I loved the people in my placement and hope they learned a few creative skills under my thumb.

A big thank you to Jess for being as accommodating as possible to our group, who have now become good friends.

Lastly, the program also ignites being more pro-active and impactful in your own backyard/ community which is something I value immensely. Overall, if you are looking for something in a time of transition and unknown, I recommend VWI as a way to get out of your own box and be around like-minded individuals looking to keep the conversation going on how to impact.
