My experience with Awake Siargao and Remalyn was nothing short of amazing, making this a truly positive and memorable first trip—not only to Siargao but to the Philippines as a whole.

Remalyn was incredibly quick to respond to all my inquiries, providing detailed and informative answers. She shared a clear itinerary a week before my trip, including packing suggestions, a tentative schedule based on the package I chose, and what to expect throughout my stay.

I spent 7 days with Awake Siargao, intending to improve my surfing skills and soak up island life. Little did I know I would make significant progress, forge unexpected new connections, enjoy great coffee and food, and even experience island life up north in Burgos.

My surf coach, Sally, was extremely professional, punctual for every pick-up, highly experienced, and—most importantly—made the time in the water fun and rewarding.

Remalyn also made time to personally join me and a few other guests for surf sessions, dinners, and hangouts outside of the busy schedule.

One of the most admirable qualities is the passion and sincerity she brings to everything she does.

I highly recommend Awake Siargao to anyone looking for a personalized and curated retreat focused on surfing and wellness on a beautiful island in the Philippines.

Before going to Siargao and joining the retreat with Awake Retreat, my surfing experience was very basic — I could only catch whitewater waves, not green ones. That was my main goal when I arrived.
I would say that from day one, Rem was incredibly professional and committed to making my stay unforgettable. The hostel was clean and quiet, the restaurant was excellent, and the prices were very affordable.
Reden, who was my coach for 7 days, was the best — deeply knowledgeable about the ocean and conditions, friendly, cheerful, and full of energy, which made my days feel like the perfect surf vacation/training and I achieved my goal of catching green waves, which left me super satisfied 😀

I highly recommend this retreat — it’s by far one of the best things I’ve done in all my years of traveling. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back very soon.

Best of all between Rem and her team you can be confident your getting first hand local knowledge to quieter surf spots, good variety of surfboards to choose from, yoga from the best yoga practioner and all the best foodie restaurants in Siargo. There was nothing I didn’t like about this experience. The food, the room, the waves, the yoga were the best I’ve ever had in all the retreats I’ve done over the years. Love Rem’s energy, passion and love for Siargao💙.
My surf coach was the best. I learnt things about surfing that no one else had taught me in the last 20 years.
Enjoyed this retreat so much I want to go back every year.
