I had such a great experience at Awake Siargao — it really exceeded my expectations. Rem, the founder, completely sets the tone. She’s super warm, welcoming, and just has this genuinely bubbly energy that makes you feel comfortable right away. You can tell she’s put a ton of thought into the whole program, and it shows in every detail.

The surf instructors were also amazing — really skilled, patient, and encouraging. What stood out most is how the whole team works together to make sure you’re always at the best surf spot depending on the conditions that day.

One of the coolest parts was how non-touristy everything felt. We even went out to a pretty remote island where there were basically no other people around, which made the whole trip feel really special and unique.

Rem also picked incredible restaurants throughout the trip, every meal was something to look forward to and she genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. It just felt really thoughtful and well put together.
