OH MEIN WOW!!! Ich weiß gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll, außer zu sagen, wie unglaublich dieses Retreat war. Ich versuche, mich kurz und knapp zu fassen, aber ohne Garantie...

Zuerst einmal: Ich habe gezögert zu buchen, weil ich zwar schon Surftrips gemacht habe, aber nie an geführten Reisen teilgenommen habe und die Wellen sonst meist allein finde. Aber das hier ging weit darüber hinaus, uns nur in die richtige Richtung zu zeigen und mit einem Leihboard loszuschicken (wobei ich diese Breaks allein nie gefunden hätte). Es war ein familiäres Setting mit einem Team, das es ehrlich gesagt nicht komisch wirken ließ, dass es Einheimische sind, mit lokalem Wellenwissen sowie Verständnis für Surfanalyse und Wellengang.
Estong und Tacio (beide Surflehrer) haben mich wirklich dazu gebracht, meine fiesen schlechten Surfgewohnheiten zu korrigieren, aber auf eine funktionale Art, bei der ich meine Fehler angepasst habe und dabei trotzdem so laut gelacht habe. Edward, der Drohnenpilot, hat geholfen, alles in die richtige Perspektive zu rücken, weil wir uns einzeln zusammensetzen und anhand des Filmmaterials analysieren konnten, was los war.

Abseits vom Surfen ist Rem ehrlich ein Schatz!! So ein lieber Mensch, und sie hat Surfen, Yoga, Eisbad, Transport, Unterkünfte organisiert und wer weiß, was sie sonst noch hinter den Kulissen gemacht hat. Sie ist eine von denen, die nicht nur so organisiert sind, sondern sie hat mir wirklich das Gefühl gegeben, dass ich ihr wichtig bin, wenn sie zum Surfen und Yoga kam, obwohl ich wusste, dass sie eine Million andere Dinge zu tun hatte.

Ich wollte das nicht so lang machen, aber ehrlich, ich war überwältigt von der echten Liebe, die alle für die wunderschöne Insel Siargao hatten, und von der Fürsorge, mit der sie sich um mich und meine Freundin gekümmert haben. Ich verlasse das Retreat mit dem Gefühl, echte Verbindungen zur Gruppe geknüpft zu haben, und sehe sie als Freunde fürs Leben. Wenn du wie ich zögerst, kann ich dir gar nicht genug sagen, wie sehr sich die Buchung dieses Retreats gelohnt hat.

OH MY WOW!!! I don't really know where to begin except by saying how amazing this retreat was. I will try my best to make this short and sweet but no guarantees...

First things first, I was hesitant to book because I have done surf trips but had never participated in guided trips and usually just find the waves on my own. But this was beyond just pointing us in the right direction and sending us off with a rental (which btw I could have never found these breaks on my own). It was in an intimate setting with a team that honestly did not make it feel weird they are local people, with local wave knowledge as well as understanding surf analysis and wave swell.
Estong and Tacio ( both surf instructors) really pushed me to adjust my icky bad surf habits but did it in a functional way that made me adjust my mistakes but also laugh so hard during the process. Edward, the drone pilot helped put everything in perspective because we were able to sit down one on one and analyze what was going on with the provided footage.

Beyond the surfing, Rem is honestly a gem!! Such a sweet person and organized the surf, yoga, ice bath, transportations, accommodations and who knows what else she did behind the scenes. She is one of those people who are not only so organized but she genuinely made me feel like she cared about me, coming out to surf and yoga when I knew she had a million other things to do.

I did not mean to make this so long but honestly, I was blown away by the genuine love everyone had for the beautiful island of Siargao and care they took of me any my friend. I am leaving the retreat feeling like I made real connections with the group and see them as lifelong friends. If you are like me and hesitant I can't tell you enough how worth it was to book this retreat.
