Albania, July 2023 - Great Experience
Remote Year did an impressive job with the trip I took to Albania in July of 2023. The housing and logistics were great. I was late to the country due to flight delays, but Ardit and Gert worked hard on producing an A+ video of how to access my apartment. Iโd nominate them for an Academy Award if I could. And Anna was waiting at the airport to get me where I needed to go. It was great after a LONG day of being stuck in Heathrow Airport. After arriving at the apartment, I found a wonderful and spacious living space with great AC (key for Europe in July), a washing machine, and all the accoutrement for a great month. The apartment was close to activities and to the co-work, but just enough away that it was peaceful.
The add-on activities should not be missed. Albania is a beautiful country. The Riviera is gorgeous, and I even got to stay a few extra days. The Albanian Alps trip was great. Its difficult hiking, no doubt about it โ but worth the effort. And, if I made itโฆIโm sure you can. Just donโt expect a โWalk in the Parkโ. Speaking of which, the park in Tirana was also lovely and huge. Be sure to check that out.
So what was the best part about the trip? I'm not sure i can pick a best part. Meeting such an interesting, intelligent, and compassionate group of people interested in the world around them was awesome. And, the weekend trips like the Riviera and the Accursed Mountains were tremendous.
All in all a fabulous job by Ardit and Gert to introduce us to an interesting and beautiful country still developing on the international tourism stage. I highly recommend this trip.
