I joined a retreat in Gran Canaria and I was overwhelmed by the amount of insights and experiences I was able to gather during just 1 week. The energy, the excitement and the kindness there are marvelous.

Borderless retreat #23 in the Azores was home and facilitator for a fundamental change in my inner life, long in the making.

There are many reasons to go on a retreat such as this one.

For me, it was an intuitive impulsive choice, and and an offer I could not refuse.

I work in mental health, and had recently come to face burnout from a lifetime of unawareness and misalignment with myself (yes, the irony has never been lost on me).

My partner, having gone through a few experiences like these, gifted me what I see now as the most insightful, caring, empowering birthday gift I could have ever received.

I entered this experience with an open heart, no expectations, no energy, very confused with all the changes that were happening. I came out with a full heart, an attentive ear to my body and mind, and turned on to life.

There is just enough structure and freedom in the program to suit a lot of different objectives and people.

I always knew that “these things are important” - mindful movement, good food, good rest, good company, nature, creativity, quiet. All of these I found back in this retreat, and I went from “knowing” to “feeling” and “becoming”. There is always a choice and a way to bring these into our lives. However, once you’ve been overworking long enough, your body doesn’t speak to you as once it could, to let you know what it needs. Nor do we listen. There is always the noise of what happened yesterday and what is yet to come.

I want to thank Marta and Kasia, for so many things - the bright smiles, joyful dancing, delicious food, warmth and openness - a brilliant job at facilitating, stimulating, inspiring and holding space for all of us.

Creating a bubble in space and time such as this retreat, plus a special constellation of people, creates a very powerful setting for change and surrender.

Once you take a full week where you *focus* on healing your connection with yourself, biologically, mentally, in any way you’d like to frame it, first you may go - okay, that clearly wasn’t enough. Second, you might start noticing the small steps you can take toward bringing some of this medicine into your everyday life.

This is what Borderless was for me, quite literally. Medicine.

I’ll surely be coming back.

I joined the Borderless Retreat x Karisma in Gran Canaria and really loved the approach of building an open-hearted community in such a short time and sharing our skills with each other - in a very playful and easy way. There was enough time for oneself and focussed work, but also a lot of space for learning from each other, lifting and supporting each other. There is so much all of us have to share, so many gifts we all carry and it is important to have „safe“ environments to express them and connect. Thank you for creating this beautiful space, amazing food & adventures. I’m sure our paths will cross again.

I had the chance to join an amazing team of facilitators at the borderless retreat in January 2022. The group of people that joined the retreat happened to be amazing. We connected -one of the main mottos of this project- not only with each other but, in my case, with myself. The atmosphere was welcoming, the location -Gran Canaria- was incredibly well chosen, the company, simply amazing, and the sauna, the views, the swimming-pool... what can I say? ... made it perfect. Marta, Kasia, and Judi were warm at heart and completely involved in all the processes. It felt like we were a family, the closest of friends. I can't wait to join another retreat. It was an experience that I'll never forget 💞

I am very happy I joined Borderless Retreat and will do so again. They make such a great effort to make you feel comfortable doing your work, giving opportunities to experience new activities and also make new friends for life!

I'd highly recommend Borderless retreats to any digital nomads out there. Maris and Marta created a beautiful, intimate environment, and handpicked an incredible bunch of attendees for the retreat.

There are activities each day (yoga and meditation in the mornings, a workshop or mastermind during the day, and an evening activity), with time to work throughout the day. The movement lab and ecstatic dance activities were amazing!!

The food was vegan/vegetarian and so yummy. I am not a vegetarian myself and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

But I have to come back to the people. They were just a great bunch of people who didn't subscribe to the regular 9-5 work-in-the-office corporate life, but who still all had built great careers for themselves. I made great friends who I know I'll stay in touch with!

I came to Borderless retreat with completely no expectations and I was really amazed by the content, location people, and general vibe. It has its own level of intensity as daily we were going into depths that I do not usually go to. For me, it was a perfect combination of mindfulness, deep connection, and work and for some magical reason, I managed to be even more productive than I usually was even tho there were a lot of emotions that were coming out of me daily thanks to meditations, yoga, etc. I think my fav thing about this retreat was body empowerment and dancing, it was incredible to find out people who connect to dance and music on a similar level to me and to see how it was integrated into daily routines as well. I honestly could not have a better time, everything from food, organization, activities to locations was just perfect. Even as an introvert I was able to still have my own peace and comfort and managed to have quality alone time which is always very important to me it was also very refreshing to meet very open-minded people who are all into growth, mindfulness, and spirituality. I cannot recommend it enough! ❤

Wow. What a week! After one year of pandemic, I was feeling the need to connect with other human beings, and I'm so glad I chose Borderless to go back to the world.

The team made me feel comfy from the moment I stepped into the house. The group dynamic was magical enough for me to feel 100% myself during the whole process.

The mind + body activities were both fun and inspiring.

The food was healthy and yummy.

There were times to be alone and others to share.

The house and setting were quiet and beautiful...

In other words, this retreat is perfectly balanced in everything it offers. And isn't balance precisely what we're all looking for in our lives? 😉

I have been in 2 borderless retreat in a row, because when it finished the first one I was already missing it so much that I jumped into the second one 🙂 It's an AMAZING experience for everyone who wants to get out of their comfort zone, meet new inspiring people, get into deep talks and experience great workshops. One of the most incredible experiences you can get. Perfect if you want to discover yourself more and connect with amazing people. At the end you will feel like you have a new family and a lot of great tools to dig deeper into your mind and body consciousness.

One of the most amazing experience I've ever had traveling! Perfect balance between mind, body and connection. Truely mindful choice of participents, couldn't have done a better job myself. I took part in the 4th edition in Madeira and came with little expectations. Escaping winter, meeting new people and get a little bit of work done. That was all I asked for. But waauw, I got so much more in return. Normally I want to do as much as possible in a day. Work, outdoor fun, nighttime entertainment … but Marta and Maris made me slow down in such a beautiful way. You are at all time free to do whatever you want to do, but they offer such an incredible programm for mind, body and soul. It slowed me down in a way I wanted. I needed. The environment is beautiful, the people they bring together want to get next level in conversations (no small talk), the food is amazing … It inspired me in a lot of ways and I'm very grateful for that. If you are a digital nomad who wants to get some work done (near the pool!) and collect some meaningful stuff to think about afterwards, don't hesitate. Take a trip with Borderless Retreat. You won't regret it. I'm definitely joining again one day. See you there!

I took a part in the first Borderless Retreat in Lisbon and it was unbelivable amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone. It was the week full of workshops of topics related to personal growth, outside meditation, yoga and conversations about inner stages and emotions. What I loved the most was the possibility to easily meet and really deeply connect interesting open-minded people. The space was super comfort and save, what gave me a feeling I that I can really share my trueself with others and receive the same. Futhermore everything was moderated by energetic organizators Marta and Maris that made incredible job creating all of this. 😍❤👌

The idea: Take a group of strangers who had never met previously, stick them in a house, force them to skip small talk and have deep conversations, and see what happens.

The results: New friends, deep connection, and a lasting sense of community.

I’m thrilled I signed up for Borderless Retreat. My wife and I were hopeful for a fun experience, but our expectations were nothing compared to how the week actually went. In short, it was an epic ball of awesomeness! 🔥

Marta, Maris, and Darrio crafted a week of serious talks, fun hikes, and workshops to stretch our minds and bodies. With ample free time to work (we are digital nomads after all and need to pay for plane tickets and espressos), it was a well-balanced week.

If you are thinking about joining Borderless Retreat don’t even hesitate. They take care of every detail and make it easy. They are extremely organized, their activities are well thought out, and they carefully pick the other retreat members to have a good experience for all.

I loved our time there, not only because of my own growth, but for the hope it gave me in humanity. Here we were, strangers from all walks of life having intimate and impactful conversations. If more people could cut the crap and get real, the world would be a better place. This is just one step towards that aim and I’m happy to be a part of it. 🌱❤️

Just a good feeling/energy through out my whole Borderless retreat experience!

It is hard to put into words what I have experienced last week, but I’ll try. I have joined a co-working & mindfulness retreat in Madeira with the intention of breaking my (lazy) home-working routine, feeling less lonely, meeting new people, and learning of the challenges and achievements other digital nomads and remote workers are facing. Being able to work remotely is certainly an amazing opportunity and perk as it gives flexibility, freedom, enhances productivity and often makes one think, work and push harder to achieve targets and goals, guess what: against all odds and negative preconceptions! However, this lifestyle comes with its challenges namely isolation, lack of social interaction and couch potatoeing. The latter made me gain 10kg (whaaat!) in a year!

I decided 2020 had to be the year of change and signed myself up for this this retreat. What I did not expect is that my mindset and bad habits would switch and rebalance so fast! The retreat consisted in healthy daily activities ranging from early morning stretching & meditation, mastermind sessions where participants shared and opened up about personal or professional struggles and dilemmas, evening cooking sessions, ecstatic dance by the moonlight, group sunset watching and weekend hikes - all of this without compromising the daily working hours everyone needed to commit to and respect as part of their jobs. The result? A week of incredibly deep exchanges and connections, a continuous flow of emotions and helpful advice, sharing of new skills and knowledge, laughter and tears, enhanced work efficiency, healthier mind, stronger body and richer soul. It was simply incredible to see a group of strangers coming together and sharing their life stories without filters, or superficial conversations, but with an open mind and eagerness to share their passion for life and this fast changing world!
