Sono stata di recente alla mia prima edizione con Noma Collective a Placencia, in Belize! Prima di tutto voglio dire che mi sono divertita moltissimo e ho conosciuto nuovi amici fantastici! È stato bello avere intorno una community di persone con orari simili e che potevano capire il mio stile di vita di lavoro in viaggio.

L’unico motivo per cui non ho dato 5 stelle è che penso che Noma avrebbe potuto comunicare più chiaramente le aspettative prima del viaggio. Quando l’ho prenotato, non sapevo che gli alloggi si trovassero in realtà a Maya Beach, a circa 25-30 minuti di auto da Placencia. Mi aspettavo di essere in una zona più raggiungibile a piedi, che sarebbe stata più adatta al mio orario di lavoro e mi avrebbe permesso di esplorare di più. Penso anche che sarebbe stato più facile integrarsi con la community e la cultura locale se avessimo alloggiato più vicino.

Detto questo, il momento migliore dell’esperienza è stata sicuramente la nostra community manager, Sarah! Ha fatto tutto il possibile per rendere fantastico questo viaggio! È così evidente che ci tiene davvero a che i nomadi si godano l’esperienza e sfruttino al massimo il loro tempo in Belize. Era super divertente, informata e organizzata! Inoltre era sempre felice di rispondere a qualsiasi domanda o dare consigli. Stando con lei era facilissimo vedere che è radicata nella community di Placencia. Camminando per la città, la gente del posto parlava sempre con lei o la salutava ed era così bello stare con una del posto che ci ha presi sotto la sua ala! Ha dato il tono a tutto il viaggio e consiglierei vivamente qualsiasi viaggio/edizione da lei gestito!

I recently went on my first edition with Noma Collective in Placencia, Belize! I first want to say that I had an amazing time and met some awesome new friends! It was great having a community of people around me with a similar schedule and who could relate to my work while travel lifestyle.

Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I feel there could’ve been clearer communication of expectations from Noma before the trip. When I booked it, I was not aware that the accommodations were actually located in Maya Beach - about 25-30 minute drive from Placencia. I was expecting to be located in a more walkable area which would’ve been more conducive to my work schedule and would’ve allowed me to do more exploring. I also feel like it would’ve been easier to integrate with the community and local culture if we were staying closer.

That being said, the highlight of the experience was definitely our community manager, Sarah! She did everything she could to make this trip amazing! It’s so apparent that she truly cares that the nomads enjoy their experience and get the most out of their time in Belize. She was super fun, informative, and organized! Also, she was always happy to answer any questions or give recommendations. While with her, it was so easy to see that she’s ingrained in the community of Placencia. Walking around town, the locals were always talking to her or saying hi, and it was just so nice being with a local who took us under her wing! She set the vibe for the whole trip, and I’d highly recommend any trip/edition that she is managing!
