How do I get to Siargao?
Siargao has daily flights from Manila, Cebu and Davao.
We recommend taking international flights there with at least 4 hour layover in Manila as you might need to switch terminals.
From Sayak Siargao Airport, we will arrange a transport for you (included in the package)
What is the internet like there?
Since 2023, Starlink has been deployed around the island, which allows us to have 150-200mbps speeds. There are times when there’s a missing satellite which causes a disturbance of 2-3minutes, but it’s not every day. Speed also depends on how many people are connected to the Starlink, but there are several cafes and working spaces around the island.
Are there power outages on the island?
Unfortunately, yes.
However, our accommodation provider and coworking space has a generator that is enough to power all our laptops during these times!
Is there surf in Siargao?
Siargao is the surf capital of the Philippines and hosts surf competitions there every year. In April, we are still blessed with good waves (0.8 – 2.2m) – perfect for longboarders and shortboarders
Is there a gym or a fitness studio?
First of all, surf is your cardio (that is sassy Marie talking)
Second, there are three main gyms that people go to: Crossfit Siargao, Tawhay, and Eskapo.
Yoga classes are also everywhere in the island but our favorites are in Lotus Shores and Praia. Marie is also a yoga teacher and will be teaching at the accommodation on demand.
I’m working US/Europe hours! Will I be able to maximize my stay?
Most of the current participants will be working Europe hours (3-11PM) so expect to be coworking a lot on these hours.
The cowork (which is beside our accommodations) is also 24/7 and some people are there working night shift. Our past participant scheduled his time to be waking up at noon, eating lunch with the gang, sunset surfing, then working 7pm-4am.
How expensive/cheap is Siargao?
Our previous participants reported an extra 400 – 800€ for meals and additional activities around the island.
2023 costs:
- Sim card: 8€
- Food: 3-5€ per big meal (we have really good food)
- Coffee: 0.5-3€
- Drinks: 1-2€ for 500ml beer, 4€ for a cocktail
- Surf lessons: 8€/hour with private coach (could be cheaper if you get them for long term)
- Yoga: 6.50€
- Crossfit class: 3€
- Gas: 10-15€
Is it vegan friendly?
Yes! Almost all restaurants have vegan options and we even have 3 vegan restaurants in the island!
How far away is the coliving space from the rest of the island?
Our accommodation is fitted perfectly so that it’s close enough to the hotspots (<5 minutes drive by scooter) and far and tucked away enough that you won’t hear any party noise when you want to sleep.
It’s also 5 minutes away from gorgeous beaches like Cloud 9, Tuason, Jacking Horse.
Scooters are already included in the package so you are free to roam around the island!
What if I don’t get along with the fellow attendees?
Kaya has a screening process that requires every attendee to have a call with the team for us to know if you would be a fit to the group dynamic. So, rest assured that you will have the most magical connection experience there.
What's our cancellation policy?
We offer a 15-days cancellation window for all bookings made until the 31st January 2024 with an administration fee of 50€. After that, all payments are non-refundable.
